Summer: Day 2

3 July 2009, 19:16 | ,

Today started a little better. I ended up getting up much earlier than intended. 2 hours earlier. I face a window when I sleep, and it turns into a problem during the summer, when sunrise is at to damn early o’clock.

I made it out side and started running. This is where I had to come face to face with the fact that I am out of shape. I have great genes (and youth) that keeps me skinny, but the reality is I can’t jog for more than 10 minutes without having to stop, out of breath. How did it come to this? The last two years of sitting in front of a computer is a prime suspect.

After I managed 30 minutes of embarrassment, panting up and down Charleswood. I started on my weights. At least I can still lift stuff, but it was made harder by the fact that I was tired from running.

Sigh…It will get easier.

The rest of the day went well (although I fell asleep around noon for a bit.) I pulled out my breaks records and practiced my scratching for the first time in months. I’m still not DJ Q-bert, but at least I’m no worse than before.

I continued my piano practice today. I feel I should have two songs to learn at once. If I get frustrated/bored with one, I can switch between. I’ve done this before, and it worked for me. So far the top candidates are Billy Joel – Piano Man and Portal – Still Alive.

I took a look at some of my own music production today. Lyric writing is something I’ve always been interested in, but have trouble with, because there are so many subjects that are just done to death.

Oh the other hand, I’m really liking my Math in Art class. Well, the art side of it anyway. The math side bores me. I’m learning about my own cities art scene, something which I know way less about than I should. I think I will have to allot some time to research about local artists this summer.

Well, I have about 20 min left of writing, let me take a crack an lyrics for this track…in the back...where its black...
