Vancouver: Part 1

23 June 2008, 13:09 | ,

It’s been four months since I went on my Vancouver trip. Here is part one of that that story.

After getting off the plane, I walk outside. There are two lines, one for taxi’s, one for limo’s. Since there are taxi’s ready to go, I decide against the 50 dollars more it would cost to pull up to the hotel balls deep in a limo. Upon arriving at the hotel, I soon wish that I was in a limo. I get inside, check in, and head up to my room…

After I take in the site of Vancouver Skyline from the hotel. I’m going to be in for the next 3 days, I decide I should call a friend of mine who lives in the area. We were planning to go to dinner as soon as he got off work that night. I get the directions from him and grab a cab to a restaurant called The Foundation. It’s a nice place, reminds me of a vegan restaurant called Mondragon in Winnipeg. We eat nachos and drink beer with his friends while talking about life in Vancouver. Apparenlty, it’s expensive as all hell to live here, and most people live outside the city and commute to work.

I take a taxi home, fill out the breakfast ordering card, hang it on my door, and go to bed. I’m in Vancouver!
