The Fall of the Torq Xponent

3 August 2007, 01:19 | ,

Alright? Remember all that great stuff I said about the Xponent? Well it was a lie. It’s garbage, it’s crap, it’s the worst thing ever.

Okay, its not that bad, something just happened.

The Xponent has actually been great up until now. It continues to be super fun every day of my life.

However, all that changed when I plugged it into to today to test out the playlist for a gig I’m playing soon. One channel wouldn’t play. I tried switching around the cables, nothing. I checked all the settings, all okay. I try putting a little pressure near the outputs, and the song jumps back on to both channels. This leads me to believe that its an internal circuit problem. Something has become loose, broken, or shorted out inside the machine. How this has happened, I have no idea, because this thing has been babied for the last 3 weeks.

Tomorrow I’m going to see if I can swap out the Torq for the other new one in the local shop I bought it from. Worse case scenario, I’m running the Xponent with the sound coming straight out my laptop, and just using the visualizer to cue.

I really like the Xponent, but if I can’t get this problem fixed with a reasonable amount of ease, I’m going to return it and wait till I can afford a vinyl/Connectiv setup, or wait for some other mp3 option becomes available, like the BCD3000, but bigger jog wheels.
